The Pächt Archive contains books, photo collections and notes on book illumination from the legacies of the art historians Otto Pächt (1902-1988), Gerhard Schmidt (1924-2010) and Herbert Köllner (1926-1988). These materials support the projects on illuminated manuscripts in Austria, which were initiated by Pächt und led by him and then Schmidt for many decades.
Books and separata can be consulted on-site. The photo collections have been digitalized and are available online for members of the University of Vienna and their partner institutions via UNIDAM. Archivalia (letters and scripts by Otto Pächt) have been given on loan to the archive of the Department of Art History. For information on these materials you are also welcome to contact the Pächt family (Viola Pächt: VIOLAPACHT@GMAIL.COM; +43 677 63110907).

Erzherzog Johann Research Prize to Dr Michaela Schuller-Juckes
for the project
Die illuminierten Handschriften der Universitätsbibliothek Graz. 1225-1300
The prize, awarded by the Province of Styria, is endowed with 12,000 euros and has been awarded since 1959 on the occasion of the commemoration of Archduke Johann of Austria in recognition and honour of outstanding scientific achievements that advance the political, humanities and technological development of Styria in the spirit of the Joannean idea.
