  • 1971: Born in Munich
  • Studies of Art History, Classical Archaeology, Ancient, Medieval and Early Modern History at LMU Munich
  • 2003: Doctorate at LMU Munich, title of thesis: Michelangelos Architekturzeichnungen: Entwurfsprozeß und Planungspraxis (Michelangelo's architectural drawings – drafting process and planning practice). The doctoral thesis received the 2003 Wolfgang Ratjen Award.
  • 1998–2005: Doctoral fellowship, academic student assistant and academic assistant at Bibliotheca Hertziana, Max-Planck-Institut für Kunstgeschichte (Max Planck institute of art history), Rome
  • Summer semester 2005: Teaching assignments at Universität Hamburg
  • 2005-2008: Temporary research associate at the Institute for European Art History of Heidelberg University
  • 2008–2010: International research fellowship of the German Research Association (DFG) at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, Max-Planck-Institut (institute of art history in Florence, Max Planck institute)
  • 2010–2011: Postdoctoral fellowship at Bibliotheca Hertziana, Rome
  • Since winter semester 2011: University assistant at the Department of Art History at the University of Vienna
