The aim of the Digital Research Archive for Byzantium (DiFaB) is to collect and digitise archives of historical photographs that reflect the cultural heritage of the Byzantine Empire and its sphere of influence and make them available to an international scholarly community on a database. The provided material is meant to encourage and support research and contribute to protecting existing cultural monuments and preserving them for generations to come.
